Brampton, practically next door.
Brampton sits a couple of miles from our door, which makes it one of the easiest villages we work in. It is also a genuinely mixed one: period cottages and the old village core, the substantial houses around Pepys House, and the large stock of former RAF Brampton housing that has been quietly improved by successive owners ever since. Each needs a different conversation, and none of them wants a contractor who only knows one approach.

We can look at something the same week, come back without ceremony if a door needs easing again after the timber has moved, and keep an eye on the things a house tells you slowly.
